Trish Schaefer
Trish has been a full time, award-winning REALTOR since 1994, many of those years as Broker/Owner/Proprietor. Trish owns and operates American, REALTORS with her husband, Patrick Schaefer. They employ approximately 11 REALTORS, with offices in Madison and Sun Prairie, since 1996.

Trish was pleased to have been personally honored by Dave Ramsey recently as a top Dave Ramsey ELP Agent in the Nation.
A professionally trained Mediator and Negotiator, Trish is honored to have been chosen as the 2009 “Realtor of Distinction” by her peers within the Realtors Association of South Central Wisconsin (RASCW).
• Trish was honored to be selected as one of the Greater Madison Area’s “40 Under 40” by “In Business Magazine” in 2006. An award recognizing 40 exemplary business people under the age of 40.
• Trish is the former President of the Dane County Business Council. A non-partisan, pro-business, non-profit organization, which during Trish’s leadership, was honored by Governor Scott Walker with an “Official Commendation from the Governor’s Office of the State of Wisconsin.” (2013)
• In 2010, Trish was gifted an “Honor Flag” from the Army Corps of Engineers. An American flag that was “flown over Baghdad, Iraq, in honor of Trish’s dedication to solder causes.
Local Association Volunteerism
• Trish served as an Executive Officer of the Board of Directors for the Realtors Association of South Central Wisconsin (RASCW). (2008-2010)
• Vice President of the Realtors Association. (2008-2009)
• Treasurer of the Realtors Association of South Central Wisconsin (2007, 2008)
• 2009 Realtor of Distinction, the highest honor awarded within the Industry by RASCW.
• 2006 Trish was awarded the Presidential Service Award for her dedication and commitment to our local Board of Realtors, with special emphasis on her training and education volunteer services within the New Member Orientation Committee.
• Trish is a professionally trained Mediator, and has served on numerous Arbitration Hearing Panels.
• Chair, GUSTO committee, Budget Committee for RASCW (2006, 2007, 2008, 2009)
• Chair of the Finance Committee for RASCW. (2007, 2008)
• Chairperson for the New Membership Orientation Committee (2003, 2004, 2005)
• Trish has served on the Recognition Committee for RASCW honoring the great people within our Industry.
• Member of the Government Affairs Committee. (1994-2014)
• Personnel Committee. This committee evaluates the performance of employees of the Realtors Association.
• As a Charter Member of the Madison Metro Women’s Council of Realtors® (WCR), a Society of the National Association of Realtors®, Trish is a former Chairperson for the Professional Standards Committee, as well as serving on the Membership Committee for WCR.
• Trish participates in Governance Task Force and Strategic Planning Initiatives, assisting in the continual re-evaluation and modernization of the Realtor Association’s local bylaws and governance structure.
State Association Activity (Wisconsin Realtors® Association):
• Trish has served many years on the panel of the Equal Opportunity in Housing.
• Member of the Public Policy Committee for the State of Wisconsin REALTORS® Assoc.
• Trish has been re-appointed to the State Professional Standard Hearing Panel for the Wisconsin Realtors Association (WRA). (2007-2014)
• The Elected Officer Team of the WRA has nominated Trish Schaefer for the State Professional Standard Procedures Work Group which develops education guidelines for state/local Professional Standards training and reviews NAR Professional Standards revisions. (2007-2014).
• 2009-2010 State Chairperson of Education and Programming for the Wisconsin Women’s Council of Realtors.

Civic and Community Service:
• Trish served as a Local Public Official for the Dane County Parks and Grants Committee. (2001-2015)
• Trish was a 2012 Candidate for the Wisconsin State Legislature, 46th Assembly District.
• Former Appointee to the Sun Prairie Parks Commission.
Volunteerism:
• Trish’s on-going grassroots efforts to support Project Linus (a national, non-profit) have thus far collected more than 2,200 locally handmade blankets that have been donated to sick and/or abused local children. American, REALTORS is an approved drop location in addition to the local Fire Stations. Trish is honored to personally participate in the delivery of these blankets directly to sick children at the UW Children’s Hospital in Madison and has been featured in local media for her involvement in this and other worthy charities.
• Trish helped establish and actively supports a local effort called Suitcases for Kids, which collects gently used suitcases, backpacks and duffel bags, and delivers them to disadvantaged foster children who are in need of them throughout Wisconsin.
• On the heels of the tragic murder of a local Realtor in early 2008, Trish formed Realtors® on Defense, a non- profit organization that provides free self-defense and “Safe Showing” classes to all Realtor® members of the local Realtors Associations.
• Trish began two soldier assistance programs; Realtors for Soldiers and Sun Prairie for Soldiers that collect and send care packages to deployed local military men and women serving our country overseas. The Army Corps of Engineers recently awarded Trish with an “Honor Flag”, an American flag that was flown over Camp Freedom, Baghdad, Iraq in appreciation of Trish’s on-going dedication to our military.
• Trish is a former/current member of many organizations including the Sun Prairie Lions, local #333 American Auxiliary, the East Side Business Club, St. Albert the Great Church and the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR).
Personal:
Trish Schaefer and her husband, Patrick Schaefer, have two children, a son, Burke, and daughter, Kendall. They have been active members of the Sun Prairie, Wisconsin community they love since 1996.
Trivia: Trish is a 5th generation Wisconsinite, and an Official Member of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR). Trish’s 9th great-grandfather was a Patriot who fought as a Sergeant under George Washington in the Revolutionary War.
